The first love is never forgotten: this is the true choreographical story of their meeting.
Terramara was the first work from this duo-company which delved into the theme of relationships between two beings, a theme which the company would then go on to study and portray in many other ways. Terramara was more than a success in what it achieved. A wonderful and promising debut piece lasting one hour in which excellence is displayed, almost shown off. Delicately choreographed to reinforce those mediterranean characteristics which are all ours, a fine example and certainly to be rediscovered today.
Now we see it performed by two young dancers chosen from the Italian scene and guided by two original choreographers. Its re-make, like previous key works by RIC.CI (Reconstruction Italian Contemporary Choreography of the 80s/90s) is not just an archaeological unearthing but an example of a fresh revival of a work with a generous mix of fine choreography, musical construction set in an outstanding orange vibrance and physicality. (Marinella Gualterini)
Following my “work-school” with Carolyn Carlson and group work with Sosta Palmizi, regarding this work done “alone” I mainly remember an explosion of the imagination which I felt could grow and ripen intensely just like the smell and juice from the oranges used on stage…. (Michele Abbondanza)
On watching Eleonora and Francesco I see ourselves in them; our past in the present day, chasing each other, looking at each other, catching each other, lifting each other, sweating and tired, panting fast, scrambling around in that space which seems to be made up of earth and sky…. (Antonella Bertoni)
