A mass loves equality. It only exists in the concentrated form and only follows just one same direction.
Only in the mass can man be freed from his fear of being touched. It is 'the only situation where this fear is reversed into its opposite state. The bodies are crowded, there is no space, each one is next to the other as if they're oneself. It’s for this moment of happiness, when nobody is just one being, nobody is better than the other, that men become mass. Suddenly, it seems as though everything happens within a single body. The more men are desperately crowded against each other, the more they are sure to stop feeling fear for each other.
