Doppelgänger

(…) Di questa edizione di Armunia mi porterò il ricordo di due spettacoli che ribadiscono l’insostituibile presenza del corpo in scena, non solo come valore espressivo, estetico, formale, ma anche come valore sociale e politico. (…) 

Il primo spettacolo è Doppelgänger, il cui sottotitolo è Chi incontra il suo doppio muore di Michele Abbondanza, Antonella Bertoni e Maurizio Lupinelli, il quale si sostanzia nella sola presenza dei due corpi in scena, un esserci foriero di straripanti emozioni, commozioni, riflessioni. I due performer, Francesco Mastrocinque, attore con disabilità, e il danzatore Filippo Porro, sono portatori di opposte e complementari fisicità. Il movimento di questi corpi portatori di voci, presenze e potenze diverse, il loro danzare nello spazio e nella luce intesse un moto ondoso fluente di alte e basse maree di forze a disegnare una cosmogonia di conflitti, contrapposizioni, fratellanze, alleanze. Un racconto epico simile alla danza di Siva che crea e distrugge i mondi.
È fortemente materico il dipinto danzato, le cui colorazioni sono date dai respiri, dagli affanni, dalle grida, dallo strusciar di piedi, dalle smanacciate sulla pelle nuda, dal sudore. Il corpo mancato in questi mesi, il contatto evitato, diventa materia di racconto senza parole. Solo l’evidente presenza davanti agli occhi dello spettatore ci rammenta la fisicità prepotente e la sacralità del corpo animato dal soffio vitale, in lotta con l’inerzia e l’entropia. (…)

(...) From this edition of Armunia I will take with me the memory of two shows that reaffirm the irreplaceable presence of the body on stage, not only as an expressive, aesthetic and formal value, but also as a social and political value. (...) 

The first show is Doppelgänger, whose subtitle is Chi incontra il suo doppio muore (Who meets his double dies) by Michele Abbondanza, Antonella Bertoni and Maurizio Lupinelli, which is substantiated only by the presence of the two bodies on stage, a presence that is a harbinger of overflowing emotions, emotions, reflections. The two performers, Francesco Mastrocinque, an actor with disabilities, and the dancer Filippo Porro, are bearers of opposite and complementary physicality. The movement of these bodies, bearers of different voices, presences and powers, their dance in space and light weaves a flowing wave motion of high and low tides of forces to draw a cosmogony of conflicts, oppositions, brotherhoods, alliances. An epic tale similar to the dance of Siva that creates and destroys worlds.
The painting of the dances is strongly material, its colors are given by the breaths, the breathlessness, the cries, the rubbing of feet, the slapping of bare skin, the sweat. The body missed in these months, the avoided contact, becomes the subject of a story without words. Only the evident presence in front of the spectator's eyes reminds us of the overbearing physicality and sacredness of the body animated by the vital breath, fighting against inertia and entropy. (...)
